Sometimes change is great, sometimes not so great, it can be planned, or it can be unexpected. In all cases it takes some adjusting. In my case this change was a wonderful change and planned. We spent ten Months preparing for our intimate destination wedding in Mackinaw City. Every day of those ten months I spent day dreaming what that day might be like… Fast forward to the wedding day October 24 2017. It was cold, rainy, windy. I was so disappointed. I am not the bride that wished for rain on her wedding day. Even though they say rain on the wedding day is good luck. I will tell you. The moment I turned the corner and saw my soon to be husband, nothing else mattered. It was so magical as if the word had stopped. All I could think was “I am about to be a wife”. With becoming a wife we go through name change. I did not want to Change my last name. I felt like it was taking away my identity. But I sat down and thought about what it means to get married. Where two become one. At that moment I knew the change was right.
The Newlywed stage is easy. I love Donald. We have been together for 3 years prior to our marriage, our love is still tender and like new. I’m not saying things just magically get great once we get married, We intentionally live our life to keep this marriage so tender we will continue to center our hearts in god. We invite him into our hearts because all that we do flows from it.
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
